PREMISES
The Premises includes the entrance lobby, Main Hall , Conference Room and toilets of the Centre, including the use of the kitchen area.
The kitchen may be used for the preparation of light refreshments but not for cooking of full meals. All Users of the kitchen must be designated people from within your group and deemed to be responsible in matters of health/safety/hygiene.
In common with others, all Users will be permitted to use the premises, all access ways and car parking areas associated with the Centre. The use of the premises, access ways and car parking areas may be varied, restricted or temporarily prohibited when necessary to the extent determined by the Parish Priest.
PARKING
This is a private limited car parking area for the use of those attending:
Users may park within the four bays leading down from the Parish Centre. They may not park in the area designated for St Peter’s Court residents/staff.
DISABLED PARKING BAYS
The parking bays designated for the Disabled are reserved for those only with severe mobility difficulties, that is, those who require a walking frame, walking sticks, wheelchair or a mobility scooter as support for entering the premises.
These bays are not to be used by anyone, albeit legally classified as disabled, who are nevertheless able to walk short distances unaided.
PERIOD OF USE
The use of the Parish Centre is permitted during the hours agreed. Setting up and clearing away is to be completed within the licensed period.
EXCLUSION TO PERIOD OF USE
The understanding is that Church events take priority over all other events. In the event of the Church requiring the Parish Centre room(s), notice may be given to all private Hirers three weeks in advance.
The Centre may not be used for private hire during Holy Week (week leading to Easter), the week leading up to Christmas nor may it be used one hour prior to, or during any Church Service as use is likely to disturb the Service and also prevent the car park from being used by those attending the Service.
TERMINATION
The arrangement expires at the end of the period or at any time prior to this on either the hirer or the Parish giving no less than one calendar month notice. The permission will terminate immediately without notice for any breach of any condition of the agreement.
CLEAN AND TIDY AND RECYCLING
It is the responsibility of the Hirer to ensure that the premises are left clean and available for other users at the end of each session. Clean and Tidy means that you remove all litter, surplus food, disposable cups/plates and dispose of them in the black bags provided. A designated person from your group will be responsible for overseeing any activities connected with the kitchen so that all matters of Health/Safety/Hygiene are adhered to. You are not required to mop floors as this is the duty of the Cleaner.
Please ensure that the correct bins are used. In the kitchen area there is a bin for recyclable items (e.g. glass/plastic bottles, paper) and also a bin for non-recyclable items (e.g. food). In the main bin area, there is a green bin for black bags containing recyclable items together with a general waste bin (orange lid) for black bags with general rubbish.
CARETAKING AND SECURITY
As other parties may be using the premises at other times, all equipment must be tidied away at the end of each session and, if applicable, must be stored in the appropriate area. All Hirers will comply with any requirements concerning the cleaning and security arrangements or the premises and the site made by the Parish Priest. If you are a key holder, it is the responsibility to secure the premises at end of the period of hire. If you are not a key holder it is the responsibility of the Parish Priest, Centre Manager or Site Manager to secure the premises.
REPAIRS AND DECORATIONS
The Parish will be responsible for all repairs and decorations to the premises other than damage caused by the hiring group or its invitees in the course of its occupation. All Hirers must advise the Parish Priest of any damage/defect in the premises, its services and equipment (including any appliances). The Parish Priest reserves the right to close the Centre to users as and when it is convenient to redecorate/repair, due notice being given to short and long term users.
INSURANCE
The Parish will insure the building and its fixtures and fittings.
All Hirers must provide insurance for their own equipment as well as insuring all liabilities associated with their group’s activities in the premises and on the site. Evidence of your insurance must be produced prior to use of the premises.
STAUTORY PROVISIONS
All Hirers must comply with all statutory requirements regulating their activity/ use of the premises at their own expense. This includes Health and Safety and, in particular, Child safeguarding provisions.
SIGNS/NAME
No name boards or direction signs may be fixed to the premises without the expressed consent of the Parish Priest. The Parish Priest may regulate the size, content, size and colour of any boards/signs that are permitted. A name must not be used that refers or implies to an association with the Parish without the written consent of the Parish Priest.
Under no circumstances must posters, signs or decorations be adhered to the walls, doors or ceiling using "bluetac" or anything similar.
ALTERATIONS
All Hirers must not alter the structure, fixtures and fittings or service media of the premises.
ALIENATION
The permission is personal to the Hirer only and may not be assigned to a third party.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
All Hirers are required to familiarise themselves with the use of the premises, its fixtures and fittings, and to comply with the Health and Safety requirements of the premises and the site. All Hirers are to comply with any reasonable directions of the Parish Priest to ensure the Health and Safety of all users of the premises, the building and the site.
