Children's Liturgy
The Children’s Liturgy takes place every Sunday during school term time starting at 10.00am. All children over 3 years are welcome; your child may be approached in advance of Mass to see if they want to join. Children normally congregate in the firont benches at the front of the altar.
The children get to learn about the day's Gospel reading, learn how to pray as a group and discuss things in a very simple and informal way. Often the children get the chance to sing songs, dress up, make things or colour pictures. It also allows the children to get more out of the experience and also give an opportunity for the parent or carer to concentrate on their own worship without worrying about their child’s conduct.
For those people with very small children, there is a carpeted area provided at the back of church which provides a softer surface with more space. It accommodates a few push chairs and can allow the little ones to stretch out if they feel uncomfortable.
We follow a guided program for those preparing for first Holy Communion which is in line and linked with our Primary school in Bloxwich.
For those who wish their children to partake in the Liturgy, please see Sue Kennedy.
