Bloxwich / Blakenall Churches Together
In late 2014 – early 2015 the English Anglican / Roman Catholic Committee undertook a “Mapping Project” in order to identify the relationships and actions in which Anglicans and Roman Catholics are ‘walking together in unity and mission’ in various contexts. The project focused on actions and relationships at diocesan level and at parish level.
Strong relationships between Anglican and Roman Catholic Bishops encourage joint action between our two churches at both diocesan and parish level. These relationships set the tone and provide a model for Anglican – Roman Catholic relations at parish and diocesan level.
The results of the Mapping Project are encouraging in that they show that Bishops across two thirds of the Roman Catholic dioceses meet bilaterally with their Anglican colleagues. Nurturing relationships in fellowship, prayer and study together was recognised in many comments from both Anglican and Roman Catholic bishops as a high priority and is greatly valued.
