Roof Repair Appeal
Saint Peter's Church is over 150 years old and the roof area is very extensive including the vaulted nave of the Church and also the flat roofs on the Sacristy side and over the Sacred Heart and Lady Chapel altars. Although the felting over the flat roofs when laid was good work in time such felting eventually 'rots' away. The felting is over 25 years old and has started to leak in the Lady Chapel when there is moderate to heavy rainfall. As such an appeal has been launched to have the surface of the flat roof above the Lady Chapel re-felted. Scaffolding will have to be erected in order to transport materials off the roof and onto the roof during repairs.
